Tokyo Rampant
H7’s Control Freak will be dropping dark, ethnic, mutant dubstep at this brand new party! Come down and check it out on Friday 26th June at UQAN!

Yup, it’s finally getting off the ground. All you dub crazed bass heads out there in Tokyo town and beyond, get yerselfs down to Toritsudaigaku (on the Toyoko line from Shibuya) Friday, June 26 for some dusk-till-dawn booty shakin’. The club is called UQAN (say ‘you Q an’) and the cost is a measly 1000 yen, which includes one drink, so hey–what’s your excuse? I’ll see you on the dancefloor mofos.

If you’re up for a bit of Industrial Flamenco vs Progrsv House vs Hardcore IDM vs Techno Pop vs French Club music vs Experimental Electronica vs Hard Techno vs Digital Scratching, then you ought to get down to Super Deluxe in Nishi Azabu on Friday June 19th for the 5th Laptop Battle Tokyo! Yours truly will also be making a live appearance in an all out death match battle against fellow organizer Cloud.
Full details on the Laptop Battle Tokyo website.

New website and upcoming events.
Control Freak has redsigned his site atwww.total.control.freak.com. The look is awesome and a brief check of the site will show you CF has two gigs in 2008. Rumor has it a new EP might hit this year, H7 has heard a few previews and you are in for a treat.
Luke Chaos is performing with Avant-Garde dance duo 86B210 in Nishiazabu on November 22nd. On December 12 he will perform with 101a at their 10th Anniversary CD launch party. Said CD features two Chaos Royale remixes. Check his site for more information on the gigs. He also has a remaster of Haters in his never ending quest for ultimate heaviness. What are you waiting for? go hammer our servers!
Finally after months of hardware research, modification and procrastinating Lazerbeat is hard at work on the forthcoming “Overlord” EP. Early versions of a few tracks circulated behind the scenes and they have been described as “banging, slithery Lofi”. Look for the EP in early next year with a possible bonus cover of a well known H7 favourite.
No commentsNew Chaos Royale track/Laptop Battle 4
I have a feeling Luke Chaos thought he was giving us the wrong impression with “Sexy Gods”, perhaps he felt it was a little too happy? a little more upbeat than he was comfortable with? His latest release is pared-down dance-hall evil, just to remind us he is the most brutal musician on the planet even while wearing his fluffy coat and pimp hat. Long time live favorite “Haters” is available to download for the first time. As always head over to the Discography.
In live news, Control Freak and Claudius are hosting their 4th Laptop Battle in Tokyo on 11/6. They have a lot of information available at their site and some rather splendid T Shirts designed by Claudius. Hope to see you there!

We were lucky enough to grab a little footage of Heavy7’s favorite stupid crunked-up DJ unit performing live.
Words cannot convey the energy of the live experience, Trust me.
No commentsRaqs Gothique live video
If you’ve heard Control Freak’s latest release, Raqs Gothique, you’ll know that is heavily inspired by the seductive art of belly dance. The music was in fact written especially for dancers Maki and Natsu’s unique choreography, and to appreciate the project fully you really must see them dance to the music. For a sneak preview of what you can expect to see at Control Freak’s upcoming live performance at Midnight Mess on 23rd August, check out the newly uploaded videos on the Control Freak Myspace page.
